Monster

Monster is what Lady Gaga's fans are called. I have a friend, no, a best friend who is a die hard fan of Lady Gaga. If she met Lady Gaga she would cry of so much joy. I hope one day she meets her and if she doesn't i hope i can some how get Lady Gaga to see Avery. I'm not that much of a fan of the famous lady Gaga but i know for a fact that Avery is a little monster and maybe her number 1 Lady Gaga fan.

The Lottery

There are a lot of things in the story that symbolize something such as the black box that was black and represents death. The stones are another big one because they were used in the end of the book to kill whoever won the lottery. They didn't have good leadership and that's why people were murdered because of the lottery. A woman named Tessie showed up later and ironically she was the one who won the lottery and got stoned to death.So for the next time you are late or speak when you shouldn't, remember karma will find you and hunt you down and you could end up dead or maybe you might just lose both of your hands.

The last Lonely Flower

            I'm all alone now; everyone else is gone. All my family and friends and even the people I'm not so fond of. I am a flower and the last one in this big flower bed with no one to talk to, play with, just nothing to do in general. Why am I the last one to be picked? I'm just as pretty of a flower as the others. Right? Or am I still left her all alone because everyone is better than me? I can't change for other people because I am who I am and that might be the reason now one picked me. One of my friends, Bailey,  had 5 different people fighting over her to see who would pick her. Another one of my friends Navy had 4 different guys fighting over her also to see who would pick her. Oh and don't let me forget my friend Tani who had this dude pick her and then the dude quickly ran away before anyone else could snatch her up. But no, nothing like this happened to me.

            I was the only flower to get picked the put back into the ground because the dude that picked like this other flower and he tried to have both of us but it wasn't working out so when he told me about the other flower he put me back in the ground. I was so sad and he had the nerve to come back and take me again then he put me back in. You might think that is bad but then he came back one more time and picked me and then I thought everything was going to be fun and great this time but then he put me back in the ground and now I'm here all by myself with no one but my sad helpless self.

            Why am I the one that gets left here all alone? I'm just as fun, just as pretty, and just as nice as everyone else. At least I think. What's wrong with me that nobody has chosen me? That nobody fights over me. I guess until I find out what is wrong with me I will be her in this huge flower bed all by myself.

Response to the poems "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Field Below"

The mood and tone between the song and just reading it on paper is very different for the song "Big Yellow Taxi". Just reading the words you would think of it as a very sad or depressing song but if you add the music they had for it, it would sound joyful and cheery. It throws people off when they hear it and it's happy when the lyrics are sad. I think they should have made it a more slow and sadder melody than what they had.

For "Field Below" the mood and tone was not the same. Just like "Big Yellow Taxi", it was happy music but sad lyrics. The difference is that this music was even more happy for a reason i cannot think of. The tone and mood should have been made more to match the lyric, not to throw people off and confuse them. This should also have been more slow and sad music than they had.

Gummy Bear Poem

Gummy bears

are very rare

from way over there

but why would I care

about those bears

that are very gummy

and are so yummy

and go good with honey

which is good for bears

because they do care

about there honey

that is so yummy

because they are dummies

for that delicious honey

that would make them money

if it wasn't so yummy

because those dummies

ate all the honey

as well as the bears that are so gummy.

Mother to Son

There are many different examples of figurative language in the story. from no crystal stair to no carpet on the floor. They help get people's points across by naming other world examples to compare to their situations and not to mention it also could make it funny or even serious. The mood the poem was in was love and helping her son to don't give up and to push down the barriers out head because you can succeed if you try hard and never give up.

Character Decription - Junior

            Arnold Spirit, who everyone calls Junior, is the guy everyone picks on and pushes around. He only has one friend, Rowdy, who turns into an ape when he beats on people, but never does anything to Junior, but protects him from everyone or anyone who bullies him. In all fair in love and war it’s not Junior’s fault he was born with too much water in the brain and because of that he now has lisp and stutters a lot. He also has seizures but hasn’t had one in 7 years but is still capable of having them.

            But on the bright side he is really smart. In fact he is one of, if not the smartest kid in his reservation. The thing he really loves like monkeys love bananas is drawing. He dreams of being an artist because pictures show more than 1,000 words and since he has trouble speaking it’s the easiest way to get out what he is thinking.
